What is my IP address?

Find and lookup IP address - Know website IP in DOS

Finding IP address is pretty simple. Here's how?
Every pc connected to internet has a network connection icon present in the system tray of windows system. Clicking on its properties gives you the information about its internet connection status like

server IP address:
client IP Address
Subnet mask etc.
The client IP address is the address assigned to you by your ISP.

Find IP address - Method 2

run command box

Press winkey (windows key) + R to pop up the run menu, in the run dialog box write CMD (Windows NT, 2000, and XP users) or command (Windows 98 users) to goto MS-DOS command prompt.
Windows 2000, xp users type: ipconfig/all or just ipconfig and hit return key.
Windows 98 users type: winipcfg to determine their current IP address.

ip config command window

Find IP Address - Method 3

Some new browsers have the option to display the IP address in the status bar area. Also there are many sites available that reveal your IP address to you whenever you visit them. If you are using Maxthon browser, your IP address is displayed right there in the status bar. Firefox too has extensions that let you see your IP address. Visit showmyip.com or Knowyourip.com and they will show your IP address right on the start page.

Easy way: Just Bookmark (CTRL + D) this webpage to lookup IP address whenever you need it. Your IP address is displayed right on the top in the box.

How can I look up IP address of a Website?

In order to find IP address of a website, just goto DOS command prompt,
type ping websitename followed by enter key and it'll reveal its ip.
for e.g, if you want to know the IP address of a website like www.pcsecurityworld.com

Just goto MS-DOS command prompt and type:

ping pcsecurityworld.com

You will get a response like this:
Pinging pcsecurityworld.com [69.89.22.116] with 32 bytes of data

Here 69.89.22.116 is the ip address of pcsecurityworld.com. It is mostly different in case of every website unless the website is using shared IP which is mainly a feature of webhosts providing multiple domain hosting under a single shared IP.

ping command in cmd prompt

Another way: Download MY IPs utility here. It will connect to internet and return your IP address.
